In a recently released statement, the Packers announced that they had signed first-round draft pick Kenny Clark to a contract agreement. Clark, a 6-foot-3-inch, 314-pound defensive tackle, played for three years at UCLA prior to being drafted 27th overall in the 2016 NFL Draft.
While at UCLA, the 20-year-old California native made an immediate impact as a freshman and went on to start in 29 consecutive games. Last season, he pulled down 75 tackles and six sacks for the Bruins and was selected to the All-Pac 12 first team.
Although he is somewhat small for a defensive tackle, Clark’s ability to stay low to the ground and fight off a double team help to make him effective at the position. After signing Clark, the Packers now have all seven of their 2016 draft selections under contract.
