A professor of finance at Washington State University (WSU), John Nofsinger holds the Nihoul Faculty Fellow in Finance within the Department of Finance and Management Science. He instructs students at the undergraduate, MBA, and doctoral levels. Dr. Nofsinger possesses expertise in behavioral finance and investor psychology, areas in which he has conducted extensive research. International finance and investments are his other areas of specialization. WSU has recognized John Nofsinger four times with the Dean’s Faculty Excellence Award, College of Business.
Prior to becoming a full professor at WSU in 2011, John Nofsinger held academic appointments as assistant professor of finance from 2001 through 2005, and then as associate professor of finance from 2005 until 2011. He began his teaching career as an assistant professor of finance at Marquette University in 1996. In addition to these appointments, Dr. Nofsinger has taught at international institutions such as the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand and the University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu, China.
After attaining a BS in electrical engineering at WSU, John Nofsinger graduated with an MBA from Chapman University. He completed his Ph.D. in finance at WSU.
