Before beginning a professional career, John R. Nofsinger attended Washington State University in Pullman, where he earned a PhD in finance in 1996. John R. Nofsinger currently serves as professor and holder of the William H. Seward Endowed Chair in Finance at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
The College of Business and Public Policy at the University of Alaska Anchorage offers several degree programs, including the bachelor of business administration (BBA) in finance. This program provides students with training in financial management, analysis, and financial planning, allowing graduates to find jobs in a variety of careers, from positions in corporations to roles in financial institutions and markets. Examples of these jobs include financial consultant, investment banker, and corporate treasurer, as well as many other career opportunities. The training program for the finance degree teaches students how to evaluate investment choices as well as how to develop strategies and assess risk.
